My 18 year old son, Sasha, came with me to Ukraine. He and I have had a wonderful time together. We are very close. He's run away twice before, and because of this my family has given me a hard time about adopting again.
Well, I guess they were right and I was wrong. Today, Sasha ran away with his passport and $200. He texted my faciltator that he didn't want to live with me anymore and he was going back to Russia and we shouldn't look for him.
There's nothing I/we can do.
You know, for 4 years we showed him what unconditional love is. For 4 years he was cherished and adored.
Was it worth it?
I don't know yet.
Please, please, please, please pray for him and our whole family. This is the same thing as a sudden death.
I probably won't be writing any more, unless I have something happy to say to you.
I don't know how I';ll recover this time----and yet, I have two precious new sons.
I love all of you.
Please pray for me.
I am sooooo excited!!!!!!

Oh Marsha,
ReplyDeleteHow heartbreaking. I have no words except to say that I will pray for you, your family and Sasha.
I can't even begin to imagine. I am so truly sorry.
God bless you.

Marsha,
ReplyDeleteThe prayers of the righteous are powerful and effective and there are lots and lots of us praying for you and your son. God promises that His word WILL NOT return void. You have spent the last 4 years sowing God's Word in Sasha's life. Even now it is working with the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. God is ALIVE and His Word is alive and active in Sasha. I can't imagine the grief you are feeling right now and the Father calls you to rest upon His shoulder as He carries you and leads you beside still waters. He can win with any hand...even a pair of twos! And you feel like you have been dealt a pair of twos, but God says that He is the Almighty One who gives you strength, who trains your hands for battle so that you can bend a bow of bronze.
While we don't know the outcome of your story yet, we DO know that God is mighty to save and that He gives you His peace to stand guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus as you cast all your cares on Him. He is faithful, Marsha. So very, very faithful. You are going to have a great testimony of His faithfulness through this tremendous trial. We love you and are praying for you. Please keep us posted.
I read about your heartache on Alan P.'s blog. I can't imagine your emotions running crazy. You have two new boys to care for and yet your head is spinning as your other son has ran away. I pray God will direct you in this manner.
ReplyDeleteOh Marsha, I am so so sorry. I can't even imagine, but I can pray that the Spirit will move in Sasha's life to change his heart and bring him back home. Know that we are praying for you and your family.
ReplyDeleteOh, sweet friend, we are praying for you and for Sasha! We are so sorry to hear this and will continue to pray!
ReplyDeleteThe Song Mighty to Save kept me going when I was in Ukraine. Thinking of it for you now.
ReplyDeleteEveryone needs compassion
Love that's never failing
Let mercy fall on me
Everyone needs forgiveness
The kindness of a Savior
The hope of nations
Savior, He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save
He is mighty to save
Forever, Author of Salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave
So take as You find me
All my fears and failures
Fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in
Now I surrender
Our family is praying for ya'll. I pray you hear from Sasha soon.
Oh Marsha! I just got home from two weeks without internet and found your posts! I know nothing can comfort you like the Holy Spirit right now, but please hear these words. I don't know you or your Sasha in person-but God does. He knew that you were the perfect living example of God's love needed for your son's life and brought you together. The outcome is in HIS hands. Sasha will never be lost to God. HE knows where he is and hears your mother's heart tearing and praying! We are praying for all of you as well!
ReplyDeletePraying for you all in SC.
